Founder and CEO of Doctoranytime, Greece
Q: How do you react to obstacles?
A: I challenge them!
From selling toys to disrupting the health system
Everything started when I was a kid in my grandfather’s shop, where I was crazy about selling toys to parents. My favorite game was to identify their needs and find the right toy for them. The feeling of achievement has been firmly planted in my heart ever since. I worked for the biggest companies in the world as a marketer, but at some point I realized that I didn’t find it meaningful to sell one more mascara. I wasn’t feeling useful in society, and was not creating the changes I wanted.
There came a day when I had to visit a doctor, and the process was like a blind date. It seemed so unacceptable in 2012, and I decided to change it. That was in January, and by May of the same year I had already started Doctoranytime. A friend of mine funded the business at the beginning. I knew nothing about internet business, but had a clear picture of how a proper health system should look. Now, I love what I do and get validation when I speak to doctors who admit Doctoranytime has made a serious change in the health system, or when patients thank us for the care they get. I feel honor, respect and responsibility!
