Founder and CEO of Trip4real
Q: What makes you happy?
A: The combination of traveling and being close to water.
Walk the walk, and celebrate every achievement
I’ve been traveling all my life, and at some point I realized that traveling is about people, not places. This was the idea behind Trip4Real – to connect travelers from around the world with local people so they can share their cities and passions. I quit my job in Australia and moved back to Barcelona, where I just jumped into the pool and took the risk of founding a company. I started working on the business plan, website, fundraising and building a team. We launched in February 2013.
I believe that one is born an entrepreneur. I’ve liked my two other careers, but they were too theoretical for me. I was missing the practical aspects. Even while working for larger companies, I felt that something was missing. I love action and making things happen, but could do without the same daily routine.
My key to success was to celebrate every little achievement instead of waiting for something huge. Entrepreneurs like breaking rules, and we should walk instead of talk! I wouldn’t do anything differently if I could go back in time. Every time you fail, you learn.
