Location: Grove Street in Greenwich Village is so called because a grove of trees once stood there, and it remains a leafy spot to this day. The revolutionary Thomas Paine died at number 59 Grove Street in 1809, but the other famous residents are fictional: the apartment building from TV’s ‘Friends’ is located here.
