Uber – Woes in Berlin continued in 2015
Uber cannot catch a break in Germany – but then again, neither can taxi drivers! The globally popular rideshare app has been battling it out with existing laws and got slammed this year when the Taxi Association of Frankfurt filed a lawsuit against the company because of their service uberPOP. After months of discussions the service, using private individuals as drivers, was banned by law and will most likely not be introduced to the European market again. Germans can still make use of Uber’s professional driving services such as uberX, uberTAXI and maybe soon the new uberPool.
