The name giver of this Kreuzberg subway station is the historic Hallesches Tor, which was formerly a gate of Berlin’s city wall in the 18th century. The subway platform on a viaduct opened in 1902, making it one of the first subway stations in Berlin.
Unu – the Berlin based mobility Startup
Unu designed an electric scooter with portable batteries. It is the fastest way from A to B in the city. One battery charge gives you a reach of over 50km – more than enough to explore your city. It starts at a base price of 1.699€. unu scooters are ordered online, with customizable colors and engines power. It is shipped to your doorstep with insurance, helmet, and license plate. The startup was founded in Munich in 2013 by Elias Atahi and Pascal Blum. Both urbanites at heart, they lived in Asian megacities like Beijing and Singapore. They experienced how being mobile can change the way they experienced cities. Currently, there are almost 1,000 unu owners on city streets in Germany and it is sold in major Austrian cities since June 2015. Beginning in 2015, unu decided to relocate their HQ to accelerate growth and moved to Berlin to build an international team and be closer to the vibrant startup scene of tech Berlin.

UNU is committed to performance, design and affordability. With its soft and sensual curves it evokes the iconic Vespa and Lambretta models. In terms of performance, the emissions-free scooter features a two-kilowatt electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery, which charged once, gives a reach of 50 km. There is also a slot for an optional second battery, which will double the Unu’s range. For those enthusiasts, who want a little bit more speed, the company offers two more powerful motors. The Unu scooter can be ordered online with customizable colors and will be delivered to your home with insurance, helmet and licence plate – altogether starting at a price of 1699 euro.
