Anike v. Gagern
Co-Founder and Managing Director of tausendkind

Q: What makes you laugh?

A: The funny faces of my two daughters.

Finding your heartfelt ambition

I was working happily as a consultant, traveling the world – one day in London, the next in Sydney and the next Munich. I very much enjoyed my life. Had you asked me the minute prior to making the decision to be an entrepreneur if I was planning to do it, I would have said no! But then Kathrin sat in front of me and told me about how her idea for tausendkind was evolving, and that she was looking for somebody to share in the founding adventure. Suddenly I knew this was exactly the thing I wanted to do. When I expressed my positive thoughts, we were both electrified and excited about the prospects. We still are!

To me, entrepreneurship is about continually grasping opportunities amidst ambiguity. Furthermore, it is about responsibility – for our customers, our employees and our investors. We have come very far, and tausendkind now has 70 employees and is supported by investors such as Iris, Capnamic and, IBB Bet. Further growing tausendkind and making it prosper is Kathrin’s and my heartfelt ambition.
