What inspired you to found your startup?
Thanks to social and data science, we can now better understand what drives team performance. Leaders in organizations have limited insight into this, which causes wasted time and money. We believe that enabling better decisions by connecting science, data, and ML will solve one of world’s most urgent problems.
How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?
We combine data and science to give leaders tailored recommendations to make faster, more objective, and less biased decisions regarding people.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
In the long-term, our vision is to build the world’s biggest database on team and collaboration data. Our dream is that every people-related decision in organizations should involve Bunch technology or products. Of course, we’re a business, so we focus on growing our customer base and revenues.
What do you want to achieve next year?
To grow our customer base by 4, our MRR by 10, and our data base by 7.
Why do people want to work at your company?
People work here because they get to work with unique data sets in a compelling subject area, with the world’s leading scientists on the topic of collaboration. We are a diverse bunch of people from eight different countries working together to shape the future of collaboration.
What has been the most important milestone so far?
Launching our ML core that translates unstructured text data into team health KPIs, and opening up our API to make this tech available to other innovators in the space.
Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?
To have found a team that believes in the possibility of building something great together, going through a thousand ups and downs, and not giving up despite of chances of success never being higher than 50%.
Where do you see your company in 5 years?
In 5 years we’ve served 5000+ customers, have $100m+ annual revenue, have different products on the market, worked with various technologies including voice, and lead the market segment of collaboration analytics.
What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?
Berlin is an amazing place to launch a startup. It has a good support system and great access to talent. However, German bureaucracy is still a huge barrier in running and scaling the business.
What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?
It literally takes 5x more time to maintain business operations in Germany in comparison to a Delaware Inc. Aside of that, it’s mostly amazing.
