Founder and CEO of trendyol
Q: What drives you crazy?
A: Lazy people and liars.
Realize the potential, act on it and never look back
Growing up, I always had business ideas and was very curious. I started student clubs in school and was elected leader for two of them. After graduating university, I undertook a number of management positions with global companies, working on challenging projects involving new brands and business, expansion of categories and international expansion. All the while, I always shopped online and was passionate about fashion.
I then went to Harvard Business School for my MBA. After the first year, I came to Turkey and saw a huge potential in e-commerce. Turkey is a textile heaven with high quality manufacturing opportunities at low costs. I decided to act fast; I built a business plan, got angel funding, recruited the team and never looked back. I believe that success comes from a combination of passion, hard work, a strong team and persistence!
