Dubsmash – Going viral worldwide

Lip-syncing video selfie app Dubsmash went viral this year, with everyone from Hugh Jackman to Rihanna recording mini hits. Singer Selena Gomez was a guest in the legendary Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where they played with the app. It reached the number one spot on Apple’s App Store in 78 countries and has been downloaded well over 75 million times until 2015. Index Ventures saw an investment opportunity in this exploding growth and led a $5.5 million Series A round in August. The investment will be used to expand the Dubsmash team and scale company infrastructure.
