Markus Lukasson (Co-Founder, CTO) and Anna Lukasson-Herzig (Co-Founder, CEO) Nils Lucas
What inspired you to found your startup?
Humans are visual by nature. Computers are not. We engineer visual intelligence to close this gap.
How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?
For our visual product search we focus on 4 KPIs: recognition speed, scalability, precision, and ease of integration. This combination makes us unique in the market.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
Success needs to feel good. For me, success is when my team fully satisfies the customer, and when I see their happy faces once they closed a deal. When the customers are happy, we are happy.
What do you want to achieve next year?
From the sales point of view, we want to grow our MRR by 500%. In terms of technology, we will keep the focus on our four KPIs, and always deliver outstanding technology to everyone.
Why do people want to work at your company?
We develop top-notch AI technology. We use the best tools money can buy. We give our employees a lot of responsibility so they can grow with us.
What has been the most important milestone so far?
The Huawei presentation in 2017 of the Mate 10 in Munich, where we delivered the software for recognition with the new NPU Chip.
Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?
How much we improved in every single KPI, and the fact that we won many enterprise customers who are worldwide leaders in their domain.
What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?
Berlin is great to lunch a startup, as many developers from other countries are willing to come here. You can get around with English only, and living is still very affordable compared with other major cities.
What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?
Germany lacks investments. Big time. We are just not able to compete with the US Asian startups without money. And I mean real venture capital invested into high risk technology companies, not growth capital for B2C marketing.
