HelloFresh – Berlin’s fresh food subscription unicorn

British investor Baillie Gifford purchased a stake in HelloFresh for €75 million. The Rocket startup is now valued at €2.6 billion, which has catapulted it to unicorn status. HelloFresh is currently the largest fresh food subscription company worldwide, operating in 7 markets. Its number of active subscribers grew by 429% in the first half of 2015, and the company currently sells more than 4 million meals per month. They announced an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of equity on October 28 but delayed the sale due to concerns about investor demand and valuation in a volatile market.
