What inspired you to found your startup?
The real estate investment industry as well as the entire banking industry is going through a rapid phase of digitalisation. I wanted to make a change, by enabling private and institutional investors to invest directly into real estate projects where they would normally not have an access to, without having to pay high fees /commissions. I saw that in the US digital real estate investment platforms, by using the power of the crowd, were able to fund multi million dollar projects.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
Showing that you can make a difference and that you are really solving a problem in the market. Being able to execute is key.
Is there anything you’d do differently if you could do it again?
Building a business is a constant learning process. So if I would have to do it over again I would probably do many things different and many things
What problem does your product solve?
Investors today only have limited access to real estate investments, mostly connected to high fees and intransparent structures. Real estate developers usually have limited access to investors and mezzanine (bridge) financing is rather expensive for them. We provide a fully transparent digital investment process with not fees for the investors and attractive returns. For real estate developers we are a fast, cost efficient alternative digital financing channel
Where do you see your company in 1/5/10 years?
Digital real estate investments in a few years will be become as normal as buying stocks through online broakers today. We want to place > €200 million per year in real estate projects in the next 2-3 years.
How are you different?
We are the only digital real estate investment platform offering securities and subordinated loans for private & institutional investors to invest in selected real estate projects with a investment volume of up to €50 million.
How often does your product/service show up in a user’s day or week?
We send out a “weekly investor news” updating our investors on potential investment opportunities and educating them on the German real estate market.
Impact: how are you doing good and building a better future?
We enable private & institutional investors to invest alongside real estate experts in selected real estate projects and generating a good return without having to pay any fees.
How has the startup scene in Berlin changed?
The fintech / proptech industry has a chance to become a leading startup industry from out of Berlin.
What are the pros and cons of launching your startup from Berlin?
We love Berlin. Although competition is though, Berlin attracts currently the most gifted, hard working, dedicated employees around the world. There is no city in Germany that is more vibrant, pulsating, inspiring and at the same time affordable then Berlin. Just the perfect place to launch a startup.
