Q: What are you passionate about?

A: My company is my biggest passion. V for Villoid!

Learning to adjust the sails along the journey

I used to run a startup in New York. During that time, I lived in the heart of the shopping district of Soho – and even as a style lover, I had neither the time nor the means to shop. I started to play with the idea of creating the next generation shopping experience on mobile – a sort of Instagram that allows style lovers to shop everything they see. Style icon and influencer Alexa Chung shared this vision, and we started the journey launching our service from New York in the fall of 2015.

I both love and hate being an entrepreneur. On the one hand, it is hard work to create and build something new. On the other hand, I like to take chances instead of walk the beaten path, and take action more than talk. In general, I think women are too afraid to take chances. You have to take chances in order to win. And when you make mistakes – because we all do – it prepares you and teaches you how to win in the end. My single most important advice is to be ready to adjust your course as you set out on your journey. It is like a sailing trip, as you can never foresee the weather or challenges ahead.
