Solving the dark side of social media

Ever since the age of five when I was crushing blueberries, bottling them and selling them to neighbors to use as face cream, I’ve had a passion for entrepreneurship. Working at a law firm later in life, I was researching a case in which a company was being sued for comments on their Facebook page. I quickly noticed that almost every brand was receiving harmful content such as spam, scams, racism, piracy and defamation. I was intrigued, and decided to jump off the legal path to focus on solving this problem. I put together a team of some of the brightest people I found and we started developing technology to enable us to – in real time and with extreme accuracy – process millions of pieces of content around the clock. Our solution became popular especially amongst global companies investing heavily in social media marketing. What motivates me daily is that we’re helping companies solve a problem that is continuously growing in size and that impacts not only companies, but as well the lives of several million people actively engaging on social media. Persistence is key to success – as is solving a problem that you’re passionate about solving! I also always look to hire people much smarter than myself.
