A: Deep penetration of technologies in our daily lives, merge between the offline and online worlds.
Move forward quickly and have a great team by your side
I had never consciously thought of becoming a startup founder, as my career choice was made long before startup culture emerged. At the age of 19, I began a travel agency and ran it myself for many years. After awhile, I felt ready for new challenges and shared my desire to try out something new with my husband, Alex, who was already involved in the startup community. We instantly realized we could become a perfect battle-tested startup team with complementary skillsets. Our common interests included e-commerce and Instagram, so the choice for our startup was obvious: an Instagram selling tool. I was hesitant at first, as I knew little about the IT industry and metrics. But I was lucky to find passionate professionals who formed the core team of Inselly and made everything possible. Now I clearly know that founding a startup comes with a learning curve of trying things, failing and trying again. Moving forward quickly and having a great team by your side are the keys to success!
Ksenija Rostova, 32, is from Riga, Latvia. She has a bachelor’s degree in Travel Management and ran her own travel business for over ten years. In 2013, Ksenija’s husband came up with idea of a social commerce startup that was too exciting not to pursue. Inselly, an Instagram marketplace, was founded the same year and now has five full-time employees. It is the easiest tool for mobile selling and a destination for inspirational Instagram shopping.
