What inspired you to found your startup?
My last company was an e-commerce network, active across 30 countries with 10,000 people. 2,500 of them were working in tele-sales and customer support. Onboarding and coaching were complex, and quality standards were hard to establish. I want to change their development using a data-driven approach.
How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?

Our speech recognition software can be adapted to industry-specific jargon, and it is the basis for analysis and recognition of success-patterns.Our analytics extract deep insights on customer interaction.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
Success means enabling sales and support teams to thrive in their jobs. We look at KPIs that reflect the agents’ learning, and then optimize our coaching based on those. We help managers gain insights to optimize their strategies. This is reflected in conversion rates and customer satisfaction scores.
What do you want to achieve next year?
The mid-term goal is to extend the international footprint (especially in the US), and to continue to innovate our coaching and analytics features. To expand our user base, we plan to implement more languages and grow our team of the world’s best engineers in speech technologies, NLP, and software development

i2x is rapidly growing in Europe, and has expanded into the US. i2x scaled its team to 40 people, including global leaders in speech technologies, machine learning, solution sales, and data visualization. In 2018, we welcomed Lutz Finger, the former director of data science at Snap Inc. and LinkedIn.
Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?
Certainly the team! The strong vision coupled with thriving technology enabled us to hire incredible talent in the fields of data science, machine learning, programming, psychology, training, sales, and linguistics to change the way people will acquire new skills in the future.
Where do you see your company in 5 years?

What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?
Berlin has been the birthplace for most the companies I was involved with. The ecosystem and especially cohesion among start-ups is invaluable, and helps to build products fast. It attracts international talent and fosters creativity. Together with international recognition, Berlin is a great place to build tech companies
What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?
The German startup scene is on a very good track with numerous international success stories, however there are always areas which could be improved. Like more collaborations between corporates and young firms. Also the available venture capital from German VC´s is still very low.
i2x was featured in “The Hundert Vol. 10 – Startups of Germany“, November 2018.
