Interview with LexaTexer

What inspired you to found your startup?

Traditionally, numeric data is used for analysis. However, in global corporations, a large portion of knowledge is hidden in unstructured, textural data. We figured it would be a good idea to marry both parts and to start LexaTexer.

How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?

Unlike general purpose analytics platforms, we focus on providing industry-specific solutions with deep domain-specific knowledge. We provide actionable knowledge rather than uninterpreted information.

How do you define success for yourself and your company?

My definition of success is knowing that what we are doing is helping people lead a better, happier, and more fulfilling life.

What do you want to achieve next year?

We are exploring ways to scale and internationalize.

Why do people want to work at your company?

You get to work with bright brains on a broad range of challenges, with a high degree of freedom.

What has been the most important milestone so far?

We’ve managed to set up a profitable business model from the beginning.

Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?

We have managed to take advice only from those who have to live with the consequences.

Where do you see your company in 5 years?

We work on scaling and internationalization. In 5 years, we expect to have beachheads in Asia and in the US.

What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?

We travel all over Europe and globally. It really doesn’t matter much where the HQ is located.

What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?

The startup scene is highly dynamic, international and moves at high speed. Today Berlin, tomorrow who knows. Remain realistic and set the right conditions.
