What inspired you to found your startup?
I am from a family of doctors and have experienced how valuable it is to be able to talk to a competent doctor anywhere and anytime. With TeleClinic, we give every person access to the right doctor at the right time.
How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?
TeleClinic is the only telemedicine platform in Germany, through which doctors of all specialties provide patients with diagnosis and e-prescriptions sent directly to the nearest pharmacy.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
TeleClinic will be succesful when we have established digital doctor visits as a valid alternative for physical doctor visits for all people in Germany.
What do you want to achieve next year?
TeleClinic is already the German market leader for telemedicine covered by private health insurance. We are now growing strongly in the corporate health market. In 12 months, we want to be the clear telemedicine leader in the German corporate health market.
Why do people want to work at your company?
Because everyone can actively contribute to improvements in treatment for German patients by providing them with better access to the right medical expert.
What has been the most important milestone so far?
In February, 2018, we released the first valid German e-prescription that can be transferred securely to more than 7.000 pharmacies across Germany.
Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?
After only 2.5 years on the market, TeleClinic’s amazing cross-functional team has already significantly changed the German health care system. We have built the only platform for telemedicine in Germany that is accepted amongst patients, doctors, regulators, pharmacists, and health insurance companies.
Where do you see your company in 5 years?
TeleClinic is the No 1 telemedicine platform in Germany, and is popular amongst patients, doctors, and payers for improving effective access to medical care.
What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?
Munich is expensive, but there are many very talented people from the universities.
What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?
More entrepreneurial investors + more entrepreneurship courses for non-business students at uni (e.g. for lawyers, engineers, doctors)
TeleClinic was featured in “The Hundert Vol. 10 – Startups of Germany“, November 2018.
