What inspired you to found your startup?
Coming from India and witnessing the problems faced by farmers first-hand led us to 3 years of in-depth research. We want to be a part of tomorrow, where we have a role to play behind every farmer’s smile and strong local communities.
How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?
Our USP is the AI based Smart Crop Intelligence protocol (SCI Protocol) that creates a network of sensors, irrigation controllers, and other devices. Advanced analytics and retrofittability to any existing irrigation system is another key aspect of our innovation.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
Personally, success for me is belief, hard work, and persistance towards the goals we set. For solarvibes, success is not just about selling a couple of hundred thousand devices. It is about creating value through social impact and forming at least 1000 self-sustaining communities across the globe.
What do you want to achieve next year?
Deploying at least 5000 sensors and adopting 1000 more farmers from 5 different countries is the target for the coming 12 months.
Why do people want to work at your company?
We are a cause-based company contributing directly to the empowerment of farmers and to food security. The multicultural aspect of our team, impact, and our innovation motivates people to be a part of Solarvibes.
What has been the most important milestone so far?
Development of Hardware, software and securing 5 pilot projects.
Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?
The success of our first campaign, where contributors from over 12 countries helped us adopt over 80 farmers.
Where do you see your company in 5 years?
We see ourselves as a potential unicorn, creating an impact on the lives of millions of farmers across 40 countries.
What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?
It is an international scene and offers a wide network of innovators, investors, and open-minded communities. The support and infrastructure for early stage startups makes Berlin one of the most attractive locations to pursue your dream.
What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?
German Startup scene is vibrant. Seeing a lot of challenging and innovative ideas in the field of sustainability, IoT and AI, says that this start community is getting stronger day by day.
