What inspired you to found your startup?
We all have substantial experience with the startup scene. The logistics industry has always been fascinating to us and we have a strong network in the space. This helped us to analyze the shipping market and find this huge opportunity in the underdigitalized freight forwarding market.
How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?
Our goal is to create the best freight-forwarding experience. No other business in Europe is able to automatically get real-time quotes while offering a door-to-door track trace service at the same time. We also provide transparency by compiling all important documents in one place on our platform.
How do you define success for yourself and your company?
We measure our success by our customers’ success: deliver the very best service and “wowing” customers by bringing a state-of-the-art digital product to a very old fashioned industry. We love inspiring people to join our team, and seeing them grow with us personally, while having a great time at work.
What do you want to achieve next year?
We want to continue to grow strongly and toacquire customers throughout Europe. On top of that, we plan to open new offices in Singapore and India. Last but not least, we will bring our product to the next level, by bringing more stakeholders andsupply chain data onto the platform.
Why do people want to work at your company?
We have many team members who turned their backs on big global players because they see the big opportunity lying within our business idea. We embrace the spirit and ambition of a great international and diverse team. We offer the chance to revolutionize one of the oldest and biggest industries.
What has been the most important milestone so far?
One milestone is certainly having conducted the biggest Series A in the European Log Tech space. Another was building up our network: we are able to ship globally, and therefore cater to Germany’s Mittelstand industry.
Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?
We are shipping a 5-figure amount of containers this year, just 2 years after our start, despite headwinds by people telling us our idea wouldn’t work. We have also started a real development in the market: 3 years ago, none of the the big players saw the digital channel as relevant. Now, they all do.
Where do you see your company in 5 years?
Our mission is to assemble the greatest minds and use the latest technology to create the best customer-oriented logistics service. We want to be within the top 20 forwarding companies, and to offer the best logistics service in the world.
What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?
As a European startup hub, Berlin is the ideal place to launch a tech company. You have optimal conditions to build something big: access to great minds from all over the world, a good funding infrastructure, etc. For logistics, GER is a crucial factor: the German players are globally leading players.
What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?
A trend is the professionality that gains weight; former startups are growing at terrific pace and become million dollar companies. The startup scene gets more structured. Venture capital available also rises and more and more startups get funding.
