Interview with Ginmon

What inspired you to found your startup?

As soon as I started to work in the financial industry, my friends and family frequently started to contacted me to help them with their personal wealth management. I realized then that there is a huge lack of suitable offers, so I decided to start my own digital wealth management company.

How are you different? What is your unique value proposition?

With apeiron®, we offer a state-of-the-art portfolio technology. Because of this smart technology, we regularly achieve higher performance than other providers.

How do you define success for yourself and your company?

Happy customers.

What do you want to achieve next year?

We recently started to offer our technology to selected partners. Continuing to close further cooperations will be the number one priority in the following months.

Why do people want to work at your company?

First and foremost, we have a great team dynamic with ambitious and smart members. Everyone who works here wants to make an impact, and to create a great customer-centric product.

What has been the most important milestone so far?

The biggest milestone after the launch of Ginmon was definitely the first customer.

Looking back at your whole development story — what makes you most proud?

I think starting as a small startup to receiving a BaFin licence early last year was certainly a huge achievement.

Where do you see your company in 5 years?

In 5 years, Ginmon will hopefully be the leading digital wealth manager in Germany, with a well established worldwide customer base.

What is your impression of launching a startup from your based city?

When it comes to finance, Frankfurt is one of the biggest centers worldwide. So I didn’t hesitate to choose Frankfurt to start Ginmon. It offers a great network, but available office space was rare at the beginning.

What is your impression of the german startup scene? Would you change anything?

In the last few years the startup scene has grown tremendously. With a little more political support Germany could be one of the top startup destination worldwide.

Ginmon was featured in “The Hundert Vol. 10 – Startups of Germany“, November 2018.
